This is my new teacup. Isn't it a beauty? It is a gift from a friend. I was so excited when it arrived in the mail. I will be filling it with some Earl Grey tea this morning. Here is a little tidbit I found about the Earl.
Grey was respected but rarely loved. His achievements were few, but they were significant…. In character he was a man of contradictions, headstrong but easily discouraged by failure, imperious but indecisive, cautious and introspective.
E. A. Smith (2004), ‘Grey, Charles, second Earl Grey (1764–1845)’
Now that my tea is taken care of I'm going to Elizabeth's blog to visit the rest of the lovely tea party participants.
Gorgeous tea cup-enjoy

ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty! And I am ready for Spring, just like you. (More snow in my midweek forecast. Ugh.) Happy T-Day!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful teacup! That's so nice of your friend 😁. Enjoy your cuppa and wishing you a very happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed this beautiful teacup and saucer. Your friend knew you well!! I was also pleased to read about Earl Grey, too. It seems I learn something new each T Tuesday. Thanks for sharing your beautiful new teacup and the information about Earl Grey with us for T this Tuesday, dear Darla.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful teacup, I would be scared to use it, I’ve broken many delicate glasses while washing them! My grandma and mum would only drink from China cup and saucers, when mugs came into fashion they were horrified! Never tasted the same apparently
ReplyDeleteHave a great week

A beautiful gift, the teacup and saucer look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes, and enjoy your tea.
Yvonne xx
Earl Grey doesn't sound like someone I would want to meet, Darla. Funny - what people can write about you after you're gone. But his tea survives (grin). The cup looks quite Victorian. Do you know its age?
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day! Eileen xx
A gorgeous tea cup indeed! What a lovely vessel to drink tea out of.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Gorgeous!!!! Doesn't it make you feel just a little better about your day drinking from it!?! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy T day!
Know nothing about Earl Grey the man.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, delicate tea cup. :)
The perfect cup for Earl Grey tea! Such a lovely piece :) Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteDarla, what an elegant and pretty cup, and so exciting to receive it in the mail. Enjoy your Earl Grey - I like it too!
ReplyDeleteOooh, that is a very posh cup. Tea tastes so much better from a china cup, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteHow interesting that little note about Earl Grey. I didn't know he really existed.
Happy belated T-Day,
Lisca
Oooh That is a pretty cup and saucer! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful tea cup and saucer!
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting about Earl Grey, thanks for sharing that!
Sorry about being so late to respond to T-day comments.
No, I am also waiting for Spring! So cold here with possibility of snow. We might be out of luck for church tomorrow morning because of ice and blowing! Interesting about Earl Grey.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite teas. And did you know they also have Lady Grey! Love it, kind of delicate, mine is Twinnings. BTW Beautiful teacup! See you next week!
That's a beautiful cup! I'm not much of a tea drinker, but I'm sure the Earl Grey will be perfect for this.
