Tea Stands for Tuesday 6/30/2020

Hello friends.  I'm always excited when I can join you at Elizabeth's for a tea party.

'Cream Tea For two' By Mani Parkes

Next time I will make a little something to go with my tea.

Cheesecake Crescent Rolls

2 cans of Pillsbury Crescent rolls
2 8oz packages cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup butter, melted
Cinnamon
Sugar

Unroll and spread 1 of the cans of crescent rolls on the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish (or 8 x 8 if you want to cut the recipe in half).

Combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup sugar, and vanilla. Spread over crescent roll layer. Unroll and layer remaining crescent rolls over cream cheese layer. Melt your butter and spread over top of crescent rolls. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and sugar. Bake for 20-30 minutes in 350F oven until bubbly and slightly browned.

Drizzle with a little honey if you like. Let cool a bit, slice and eat.

Enjoy your tea, I will try to get around to see what everyone is doing these days.

Before we were yours (book)

I've always been a reader but while staying home the last few months I have increased my reading a lot.  Here's one of the books I enjoyed.

The book is historical fiction based on a real-life scandal. Georgia Tann, director of a Memphis-based adoption organization, kidnapped and sold poor children to wealthy families all over the country. Lisa tells their story writing parallel tales, one set in 1939 and one in the present day.

The story moves along well and the fact that it is based on something that actually happened kept me turning the pages to see what was going to take place next.

Good Morning

I've been away from my blog for too long.  I thought I'd reenter the fray with a little humor shared by a friend.
