Tea Stands for Tuesday 2/26/19

It is a rainy Tuesday morning here.  I am really ready for spring and I imagine many of you are too.  Or perhaps waiting for fall if you are in a different part of the world.

This is my new teacup.  Isn't it a beauty?  It is a gift from a friend.  I was so excited when it arrived in the mail.  I will be filling it with some Earl Grey tea this morning.  Here is a little tidbit I found about the Earl.

Grey was respected but rarely loved. His achievements were few, but they were significant…. In character he was a man of contradictions, headstrong but easily discouraged by failure, imperious but indecisive, cautious and introspective.
E. A. Smith (2004), ‘Grey, Charles, second Earl Grey (1764–1845)’
Now that my tea is taken care of I'm going to Elizabeth's blog to visit the rest of the lovely tea party participants.

Tea Stands for Tuesday - 2/19/19

Good Morning my Tuesday friends.  This morning it is all about water.

I'm drinking water.
Contemplating the river
Oh my!

Have a look.....

There are monsters in the river.  One of them is kissing the bridge. Our property starts where the bridge touches down at the right of this photo.  We are at the "monitor" flood stage and have been for a few days.

Here's a FB posting from a bar/restaurant across the river from us. The water is about to their front door.

Hope you are having a good day wherever you are... and as they say in this part of the world...

KEEP YOUR TOES DRY!

I'm off to visit Elizabeth and those who post there.

Tea Stands for Tuesday 2/5/19

I'm showing up for the tea party at Elizabeth's this morning and hope to connect with my friends there.  I've had a worrisome couple of weeks but things are beginning to level out.

Times like this it is nice to have the old reliable coffee pot on hand,  We've gone through several Melita coffee pots over the years.  Used it long before the phrase "pour over coffee" was around.

Knitting is my go to when life is not as I would like it to be.  I made this baby blanket just in time to take it to a baby shower.  I'll tell you a little secret.  It was easy-peasy.  I used self striping yarn by Hayfield.  I find self striping yarn entertaining as I see what each section is going to reveal.

I believe there will be some interesting things going on at the tea party so I'm headed there next.
