We are busy making plans to host Christmas Dinner for the family at the River House. There will be at least 13 of us, maybe a couple more. What are your plans for the holidays?
The house is well designed for a large group, there is easy flow from room to room. The front porch is generous in size as well. We have pretty mild weather compared to a lot of the country so it us usable year round. It is protected should it rain but if it is windy it will chase everyone in.
This is what the river looks like right now. That is a draw bridge that I'm looking under to take the photo. The bridge marks the south end of our property. The local rice harvest finished last month and there are lots of birds in the vicinity. I think they nest under the bridge.
Bring your drink and go with me to Elizabeth's blog to check on others who show up on Tuesday's for Tea.
a family gathering at the river house sounds wonderful and fun. I love being near any water. And of course, the Peets makes it that much better. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely river home you have-are you growing wild rice? what a beautiful location for Christmas. I can almost hear the birds
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day Kathy
I love your river house. We have several events planned during the month of December. Friends coming for the weekend of the 8th, a neighborhood party (not at our house) on the 16th and good friends coming for Christmas dinner.
ReplyDeleteA fantastic house to celebrate Christmas! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy T- Day!

Sounds like the ideal place for a family gathering, Darla. we'll have 9 for Christmas. I'm ordering the prime rib from the little butcher shop today. Is the river high? It looks like it could be. Is there ever danger of flooding? I don't know of a Peets store here - I think we're inundated with Starbucks and the occasional Tully's.
ReplyDeleteChristmas will be spent at home ... but daughter will be spending the month with us... so excited.. its been a year since we've seen her... and this year will be extra special as she's carrying a special bundle.... :) Happy T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteI think the red Peet's bag is the perfect festive decoration - the red is so bright and cheery 😁. Christmas at the River House sounds wonderful and your front porch looks so welcoming, I'm sure everyone will have a fantastic time! I hope you have enough coffee for all those guests...lol 😉. Wishing you a very Happy T Day! J 😊
ReplyDeletePeet! We are huge fans of the Italian blend, thanks to you, but we've never tried the Holiday blend. I'll look for that where we buy this coffee.
ReplyDeleteYour River House Christmas sounds delightful. A porch is always a sweet addition to a house, and I miss having one. Happy T Tuesday
I've not heard of Peet and do not know their coffee, but if the bag is anything to go by....
ReplyDeleteGreat that you are going to host Christmas! I love doing that sort of thing too. Our house is not that practical though and our family live in different countries, so we usually go away for Christmas or it is just the two of us. This year we are going to Holland to spend Christmas with my 92 year old mum. She lives on her own and has a guest room that we can stay in. I am greatly looking forward to it. Hubby and I are both good cooks and we haven't dicided what to do yet. We shall ask mum what she would like.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
You, Linda, and Divers and Sundry are the only ones I know who drink Peet's. We don't have Peet's here. Too many Starbucks in KS, I guess. Your festive red bag will fit in quite nicely, as it is so festive.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your wrap around porch. It looks like a place to have the perfect number of friends and family for a big gathering.
Thanks for sharing the River House and your Peet's with us for T this Tuesday, dear Darla.
Christmas dinner at the River House sounds lovely, Darla. It looks like the perfect setting. We haven't made our plans yet, so I guess I'd better get going!
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day. Hugs, Eileen
Your house looks beautiful and will be a lovely destination for a festive gathering.
