There is just a suggestion of fall in the air. These blossoms are from Sun Chokes or often called Jerusalem Artichokes. They grow quite easily here. My cup, a gift from a friend, is ready to be filled.
Here is what I've been busy with lately. (PS yesterday's post shows another recent piece)
mixed media
8x8 box canvas
I used a number of papers in the background and acrylic paint. The square format of the canvas was unusual for me, I usually paint or sketch on rectangles.
While you sip your morning drink it is time for you to tell me a secret.
Are you familiar with the lines from this poem by Thomas Beddoes: "If there were dreams to sell/Merry and glad to tell/And the crier rang the bell/What would you buy?" This reminds me of those lines.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I might have to use that quote. Maybe a companion piece? Thanks April!
DeleteLove your pretty canvas. My secret? I just had an afternoon nap and now I'm trying to wake up again with coffee! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful background and picture, Darla. Do you have trouble with the acrylics drying too fast? I found that working on the Christmas ornaments this year. A secret - not sure if this counts, but my car is in the auto body shop being repaired and I am anxious for it to be done and back on the road. It took THEIR company 6 weeks and a day to make a "determination" on the outcome. Have a lovely Tuesday!
