Tea Stands for Tuesday - 10/20/15

In my case coffee is what is in my cup this morning.

I was searching for something else and came across the above.  There a couple more free coffee related graphics if you are interested.

I think she looks a little bit perky for so early in the morning.  Maybe it isn't her first cup (grin).

Moving on with the coffee theme I thought I'd show you my vintage coffee grinder.

It still works for grinding coffee beans.  I admit I usually use an electric grinder these days.  This has come in handy on the occasion the electricity is off though.  We have a gas stove so electricity or not we can make coffee.

I know there are lots of tea drinkers out there too posting on Elizabeth's blog today so check them out.

  2. We have or had a coffee grinder like that was belonged to my DH's mom. I think we've packed it away since we usually don't grind beans. As you know, I only drink tea, and DH prefers instant coffee.

I do think the lady looks like she had a bit too much caffeine this morning, LOL!

  4. Love the grinder! I never thought about how handy it could be if the electricity went out. The vintage lady looks like many of them looked in magazines, ads of that era. I guess they were supposed to be perky and happy all the time depicting the perfect housewife. Happy T day!

  5. My parents used to have a manual grinder but I always thought it was just decor since they never used it. It was Sanka for them. :)
The girl definitely looks like she's on a second pot of coffee!
    Happy T day!

  6. She's been into the espresso; I know the signs ;)

We have a vintage coffee grinder. It's been passed down to us, but I've never used it. I think we need to see how it works.

    Happy T Tuesday!

  8. I have a definite love for those mid-century modern graphics. They remind me of how my grandmother used to get dressed up every day, minus the bracelets and bow in the hair, of course. She did this every day until the day she died. Her appearance was very important to her, I think, although at the time, I don't think I ever noticed or paid much attention to it.

I've seen those old grinders, but don't have one. And for someone who grinds her beans every time I make coffee (which could be up to three times a day), I would be lost without it. Of course, when there's a storm, I make sure I have coffee ready to go, since I can't do without it.

Thanks for sharing that graphic that brought back memories for me, as well as your grinder for T this Tuesday. It feels so good to have you back.

  11. The graphic you chose looks fresh.
Btw. Alessi has a modern cherry tree coffee grinder. I bought it some years ago and then passed it on to my daughter. Since the family usually drinks tea, Merit saw the trouble of grinding me coffee from beans she had brought from Brazil. It has happened already a few times. Delicious!

  14. Lovely grinder. My mum used to have one like that and my sister and I sometimes were given the chore of grinding the coffee. That was hard work (as we were only young). We had to hold the grinder between our knees and take it in turns. Precious memories....
