I was going through some of my older art pieces. Trying to get some inspiration. The owl is a hand carved rubber stamp I created during a brief period of stamp carving I went through.
I seem to like to try different things, like stamp carving, and then move on to something else. Maybe it is curiosity or maybe I have a short attention span.
I think I will get those old stamps out. This is the perfect time of year to use the owl stamp.
Anyone carve their own stamps?
Your owl is adorable, and the carving is SO well done. I applaud you.
ReplyDeleteI have "carved" a few stamps, but since I don't have the proper tools, I've used the only sharp knife I own to do mine. That's why most things I make are quite linear. One of these days I'm going to actually buy a real stamp carving set and something other than eraser rubber.
I really like this stamp and card, Darla. You are very talented, methinks.
ReplyDeleteLove this little owl, Darla. Very appropriate for this time of year. Yes, I have carved a few stamps. Took a class at Letters of Joy (calligraphy gathering) and since it was just after I'd been to Nome for Iditarod, I carved a little native girl dancing. Also carved a cup with a heart on it, a tiny VW bus (we owned one at that time) and holly leaves. I still use them, too. I admire your adventure with art - trying new things, sharing them so we can see what you're up to. Thanks for sharing yourself and your art.
ReplyDeleteThat;s a beautiful and interesting card. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI remember tis stamp, and the card. I still think it is fantastic
ReplyDeleteI've never carved my own stamp, but like you, looking through old art projects often sparks my creativity!
