Tea Stands for Tuesday 6/7/16

I recently drove to Napa to join a friend from Tahoe.  We only get together a few times a year these days so we spent the night there to give us time for a good visit.   We did some shopping and went to Morimoto's for dinner.  Morimoto's is a very high end place with restaurants in a few cities including New York.  The chef has written books and I believe had a TV show although I never saw it.

You walk by the chefs working area on the way to be seated.

We started with martini's

and later switched to wine

The waitstaff was very helpful.  We had a number of dishes but here are a couple of my favorites.

Everything about the restaurant and the meal was fabulous. It was really a very special experience.  It was also very expensive - almost shockingly so to me.  My friend had been given a gift certificate over the holidays so the dinner was her treat.

I'm hoping to link this to Elizabeth's blog for Tea Tuesday but since I'm preparing the post ahead of time I don't know if it will show up.  I hope so.

  3. I sincerely apologize Darla. When I left the house, your blog post didn't show up and I missed it when I returned. I fear blogger is playing tricks on us, because I noticed Erika's post didn't show up till about an hour ago. Had I not seen her link, I would never have known she had a T post. I'll add your link, but I fear it's a bit late.

This DID look rather expensive. My guess is (and remember, I'm from the midwest, where things are seemingly cheaper) your bill for two was around $120.00. It all looked quite lovely, though!

Again, I apologize for not seeing this sooner and thanks for sharing this with us for T this Tuesday.

  4. Oh it does look special, and delicious. Have you noticed that sometimes the most expensive food comes in the smallest portions? I'd love a few of those salmon rolls!

  5. I forgot the wine and martinis since I don't drink anything except water when I go out to eat. But it still sounds like a very expensive meal.
