Tea Stands for Tuesday 6/14/16

Breakfast at the River House is ready.  Want to join me?

The blue plate is more oval than it shows here.  Both plate and cup were thrifted.  And, yes, those scrambled eggs are a little too done.

Here are some more thrifted dishes.  I'm trying to assemble a collection of mismatched colorful plates.  Think Fiesta Ware on a budget.

Another dish still in the cart.  I think I saw these dishes at the Dollar store but anyhow it was a dollar at the thrift shop.

I will be posting more of my decorating plans for the River House in the future.  In a word COLORFUL.

Do you use bright colors in your home?

Be sure to look in at Elizabeth's blog to see what others are up to this fine Tuesday morning.

  1. I love the idea of using bright dishes from thrift and/or dollar shops. A lot of my cups and plates etc come from our thrift shop here, it's good that things get a second lease of life in a new family. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  3. I laughed at the phrase fiesta ware on a budget. I love that, and of course, I LOVE the colorful plates and cup you shared with us today. My life is colorful enough, I try to keep my home neutral!

However, I look forward to seeing your colorful home soon. I certainly think we all need color in our lives, whether it's in our studios or our homes. Thank you for pointing all this color out to us for T this Tuesday. And thanks for sharing your coffee with us, too!

  11. I use LOTS of color, but sadly have found few colorful plates. I have a handful of ones in cobalt and dark green from yard sales, but they all have chips- I'm sure they would have gone to the antique store if they'd been perfect! I don't mind the chips, and the plates make me happy when I use them.
