Tea Stands for Tuesday - 5/5/2020

Good morning friends.  Today is Cinco de Mayo, celebrated by much of the Latin community here in the Bay Area.  Normally we would go out for a Mexican lunch but not this year.  This year we celebrate at home.  You can see my blue Mexican hand blown glass ready for my margarita.

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5. The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. (Wikipedia)

Lets visit our Tea Party Hostess Elizabeth to see what everyone is doing this week.

  1. Looks lovely, Darla. We're having tacos for dinner. Nothing fancy and no dinner out. We miss our little Mexican restaurant, too.

  8. What a great way to celebrate today, Darla. I believe you are in the safest city in the country right now, so I hope you appreciate what your mayor has done to keep you safe. This is a lovely setting and a beautiful hand blown blue glass, too. I might have to make some Chili Rellenos, only mine will have to be with chopped canned chilies. Raiding my pantry might be a good thing (grin).

Thanks for sharing your Mexican cookbook, your celebratory vignette, and your gorgeous hand blown glass ready for a margarita with us for T this Tuesday.

  12. Happy Cinco de Mayo. And happy T day too. I know, this virus puts a big damper on celebrating. I used to have that cookbook. I had to do some cleaning so I have it no more. I hope you enjoy/enjoyed the day.

  14. Happy Cinco De Mayo and Happy belated T day. I love Mexican food and usually have some when we are with our son in San Francisco, they have huge lines waiting sometimes so we usually order it and just collect rather than wait for a table.
    Have a good weekend

  15. Lovely assortment in your photo. Happy (belated) Cinco De Mayo and T Day! I usually have Mexican take out for dinner when the holiday falls on a week day, or go out for lunch when it falls on the weekend, but this year with covid-19, I played it safe and didn't get take out. :-(
