Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here's a little poem for St. Patrick's Day.  I'm not Irish but I am always ready to celebrate something.  I think I'll wear a green hat when I go out on my walk today.

There's a dear little plant that grows in our isle,

'Twas St Patrick himself, sure, that set it;

And the sun on his labor with pleasure did smile,

And with dew from his eye often wet it.

It thrives through the bog, through the brake, and the mireland;

And he called it the dear little shamrock of Ireland...

  3. Happy St. Paddy's Day! We usually have an Irish dinner on this Irish holiday - shepherds pie and soda bread, but no Guiness. I love this holiday.

  4. Lovely - that poem rings a long-ago bell for me. Wore a green scarf and jade earrings. :)

  5. I'm sorry it took so long to get here today. It's still St. Patty's Day, though, so I'm wishing you a delightful one, even if it is a bit belated. That is a fun poem. So glad we both wore green today, especially after I got out of my green nightgown this morning.
