Tea Stands for Tuesday - 3/8/16

Time to check in with Elizabeth and my tea party friends to see what is going on this week.  Won't you join us?

I'm clearly drinking coffee.  From the look of our Mallita coffee pot it is possible I'm drinking too much coffee.

Did you notice the hot pad the coffee pot is sitting on?  A friend made it for me and it is filled with spices, mostly cloves I think.  Even though I've had it many years the scent is still there when you sit something warm on it.  These were quite popular with crafters at one time.  Did you ever make any?

I may be having one of these later this afternoon.

It is tax season here in the U.S.  I'm meeting with my CPA this morning.  Our taxes are complicated this year due to the loss of our second home in the fire.  I hope I have everything in order, fingers crossed.

  1. Taxes, taxes, taxes...uuughhh... We did ours a little while ago... Thankfully it turned out well and i hope yours does too. :)

I hope to make one of those smelly hot pads one day... i''m hoping when the time comes i can find instructions on Pinterest. :) Happy Tday! Hugs! deb

  2. Yes, I made a few of these for gifts years ago. Hadn't thought of them in years. May have to make a few again. As to taxes - been there, done that, wrote the check. Happy to have it behind me. Happy Coffee Tuesday, too.

  3. Love the coffee, love the pad it sits on. BUT, I don't make anything that requires me to cut and sew precise stitches.

Taxes can be a pain at the best of times, but this year it sounds like it will be even worse for you. Do you plan to rebuild in the mountains? Have you been back since the fire? Yes, I'm a snoop.

Thanks for sharing your coffee, your hot pad, and your martini which you will probably need with us for T this Tuesday. Good luck with the tax man!

  4. I never made any of those hot pads, but I have a couple. Very handy :) Happy T Tuesday!

  5. Ha! i used to make similar hot pads as gifts:):) Coffee is always good but that lemon drop martini looks very tempting too. Good luck with taxes and a happy T day!

  6. Lovely coffee, and the spice filled pad is a fantastic idea. Happy T Day, sorry I'm late today, I was at Rehab/Boot camp all day! Hugs, Valerie

  7. Yes I remember those herb mats...ummm.
Your lemon drop sure looks inviting.
Good luck with your taxes...it is always nice when that task is taken care of.
    Happy T Day Darla

  8. an herbal hot-pad sounds quite nice...I love the smell of cloves. Had to smile at the cocktail...I do hope the appointment with the CPA goes ok. Good luck!

  9. Good luck with your taxes Darla. Great hot pad you have received from your friend.
    Happy T day

  10. Good luck with the taxes. No, I have never seen one of those hot pads, but I could certainly use one for my new pour over coffee pot.
    Happy T-Day! :)

  11. Good luck with your tax return. Hope it all goes well. I don't have that problem. My income is so low that I don't pay taxes!
No, I haven't seen those hot pads either. A good idea though. I'd love to know how to make them.Elizabeth's computer freezes every time she visits my blog and gets a message 'Mozilla Firefox not responding'.I have never heard of Mozilla Firefox and am not conscious of using it... Do you get the same problem?
    Have a good week,

  12. Oh! Is it possible to drink too much coffee? Love the thought of the spicy aroma!Good luck with the taxes! Happy T day! Chrisx

  13. I used to make those hot pad out of old quilts. Still have one and it still smell good. Although it is looking a bit rough from all of the use. Never too much coffee...well almost never :) The mixed drink looks good too.

  14. Oh, I love coffee, Darla. I'm sipping on it right now enjoying your blog post. What a cute hot pad your friend made you. Oooo, this drink looks delicious. I love anything with lemon.
