Tea Stands for Tuesday 4/2/24

Good morning friends.

Spring is opening up here by the Bay and getting rid of some of the recent darkness.  Winter is never my happy time.

April is National Poetry Month.  I like poetry and have several poems saved that I think I will share this month.  It is possible I have posted some of them before.  Here is one that is at the top of my favorites list.

CONFESS
Alison Luterman
I stalked her
in the grocery store: her crown
of snowy braids held in place by a great silver clip,
her erect bearing, radiating tenderness,
the way she placed yogurt and avocados in her basket,
beaming peace like the North Star.
I wanted to ask "What aisle did you find
your serenity in, do you know
how to be married for fifty years, or how to live alone,
excuse me for interrupting, but you seem to possess
some knowledge that makes the earth burn and turn on its axis—"
but we don't request such things from strangers
nowadays. So I said, "I love your hair."

Be sure to visit our tea hostess at Elizabeth's blog.

  1. The poet’s cruelest month is National Poetry Month? How interesting. The poem you chose is very nice.

  3. I like that poem too. And that is so true about tea also. We have enough chaos and darkness to deal with so drink tea. I hope it's been a happy T day. hugs-Erika

  5. So nice to see you posting again. Also a joy to see you have included poetry. This is absolutely perfect for T this Tuesday, dear Darla. Thank for sharing it.

I got a "Failed to Publish," so not sure when you will see this.

I'm not sure you will ever see this, because I have been trying since the 2nd to publish my comment.
