We are having a wet December here in NoCA. That is my excuse to stay in and drink tea. I think I should ask Santa for this tea pot, isn't it lovely.
I did have a bit of time for art this past week. Nothing holiday related. Kind of dark in my workspace and no tea, just my trusty water bottle.
I'm working on my Altered Playing Cards again. If you look closely you can match some of the paper bits to the cards below.
I pretty much failed at photographing these three. The ones left and center have gold that I painted on tissue paper and then tore out and glued to the background.
Lets go visit Elizabeth's blog and see if anyone is into holiday ideas.
What a pretty tea pot for sure, your altered play cards looks like a fun art project-happy T
ReplyDeleteI hope Santa is reading your blog and will see that you want the teapot!

ReplyDeleteNo, I'm not so much in holiday mode and I have not made any Christmas cards either.
ReplyDeleteBut your altered playing cards are really nice.
And oh that teapot! What a beauty!
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca

ReplyDeleteYou don't have to tell me. I know I'm late visiting. I nearly fell over when I saw that teapot. You aren't the only one who would love it.
ReplyDeleteI spent a year making altered playing cards (2 cards every two weeks), but we had prompts and the lady hosting had tons of materials and tools I didn't own. It was NOT fun for me. At least, you can decide what your cards will look like.
A covered water bottle is good in any craft space, Darla. Thanks for sharing that teapot, your altered playing cards, and your water with us for T this week, dear.
I think your playing cards are looking great! And I love that pretty teapot!!.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tea Day,
Kate
Hi Darla!! I keep saying i'm going to try altering some playing cards but i never seem to get around to it! Even without the best lighting your cards look fabulous! i do apologize for being late! Not 5 minutes after i linked to the T party hubs walks in and says ' We need to go to the hospital'.. sigh... He had tried to cut off his fingers with a power tool... So , several hours, 12 stitches and one broken finger later.. he's doing okay.. so Happy Belated T day! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteWell, I for one think that is the Best Teapot Ever! Isn't is gorgeous!? Your cards are very clever, and make pretty pictures. You are such a good artist, Darla. Have a very Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas teapot. Hope you and Wm. are staying warm and snug - winter weather has arrived here and we are tucked in. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
