October is such a beautiful month in Northern California. We continue to spend quite a bit of our time at the river.
This fine hen appeared in our yard over a week ago. Our yard is fenced and we have no idea where she came from. She's laid four eggs during her visit though. She likes to come right up on the front porch and chat with us.
I've been trying different teas. Mostly using what I have on hand.
Have you tried any of these teas for the condition described?
Thing morning I added peppermint leaves to some standard black tea. Guess I must have been feeling "sluggish", LOL!
I'm off to join the group for tea at Altered Book Lover this morning. Won't you join me?
Good morning, how fun to have the chicken visitor-they can be quite friendly at times.
ReplyDeleteYes I love herb teas for different things Happy T kathy
I'd welcome a chicken visitor:) Wonder how long yours will stick around...I do like reading about the properties of the different flavors/herbs in teas. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteThe list of teas and how they can help different conditions is a good one. I have a few favourites from your list, ginger, lemon and peppermint, but haven't used them for any particular reason.
ReplyDeleteHappy T day wishes.
Yvonne xx
You've been adopted! How sweet :)
ReplyDeleteI can vouch for the chamomile and the lemon teas for the ailments listed. I keep commercial bag versions of them on hand. I like the taste of them, though. I'm rarely sick. I sometimes have a seasonal cough, so maybe I should try thyme. Happy T Tuesday!
We had two chickens visting as well some weeks ago they found a little whole in the fence. But we sent them back as we were afraid they would be run over by cars as they came from across the street! Oh all this teas - I love them all and a mix of them.
ReplyDeleteI always take thyme when having bad colds -- it helps really good!
Happy T-Day!
What a suprise to find this friendly hen in your yard and how wonderful that she visits and gifts you eggs too 😀. I'm loving the list of teas for different conditions, I always enjoy peppermint and ginger teas, not together though ...lol 😉. I tried a beautiful cinnamon tea at my friend's house and enjoyed it so much we bought some while we were there, I'll have to share it one Tuesday! I'd be interested in trying the Thyme tea next time I have a cough too 😁. Wishing you a very happy T Day! J 😊 x
ReplyDeleteAww, your hen is lovely, Darla. Someone must be missing her ;-(
ReplyDeleteSorry to say I've tried but don't like tea, despite their health benefits.
Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen
How cool to get a pet hen suddenly. SHe must have learned to be so friendly. It's gotten cold here so I am jealous of your gorgeous weather. Enjoy it, and happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteI have used Ginger, fennel and chamomile for digestive issues. They work so well for me as I have frequent stomach issues.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy tasting new teas.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
What fun to have a nice chicken visitor, and who brings gifts as well. I wonder if somebody is wondering where her eggs are? I love camomile tea, and have it most nights, under the impression it promotes sleep. Ha ha, I might be wrong on that one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice little chicken visit. Bearing gifts as well! Did you ever find out who she belongs to?
ReplyDeleteIt's very true about those teas. We always have peppermint tea in the mornings for obvious reasons. The ginger is good for nausea. But if you don't like ginger like me, it will make you even sicker, as I experienced when I was having my chemo.
The lemon is good for the throat, but I would add a bit of honey too. The camomile we drink in the evening, rather than the passionflower (we don't have those over here). I would have fennel tea for an upset stomach.
A belated happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Ooh! Well done to the hen for giving you eggs! I love the reasons for drinking those teas but I will still stick to my coffee, Thanks anyway!!! Belated Happy T day! Chrisx
ReplyDeleteAlthough I’m still not well, I apologize for taking so long to visit. I am just now making it out of bed. I grow my own mint, including peppermint, so I should try some for my sluggishness. I have to admit, I GET a stomach ache every time I think of drinking chamomile. I can't stand the taste of it.
ReplyDeleteLoved the chicken who left the gifts. What fun.
Thanks for sharing your chicken and her gifts, and for the tea flavors with us for T this Tuesday, dear Darla. I'm SO sorry I'm late visiting.
