Sometimes I can't believe how fast Tuesday rolls around. A couple of days ago we were at the River House.
Looking at all the bare trees and the red sunrise. You've heard "Red skies in the morning, sailors take warning" haven't you? Yes, we've had lots of rain and it is threatening to flood. I can only cross my fingers.
On a more cheerful note, let me show you my latest thrift purchase for the house there. Dishes. I don't need more dishes, I just have a tiny weakness.....For Dishes.
They are not old They are by Susan Winget and part of a set called Garden of Olives. I found them listed as salad/dessert plates but they are going to be perfect sandwich plates for me. Three plates/$2. I wonder if I will ever stumble across the 4th plate in the set in my thrift store hunts.
Lets take our drinks over to the Altered Book Lover blog and find out what has been happening since last Tuesday. The people who post there seem to always have something interesting going on.
Those are adorable plates and I know what you mean about an addiction to dishes.. Hubby is always making fun of mine. He thinks all we need are paper plates :) Happy T Day!!!
ReplyDeleteLove those plates, would have bought them too! Hope it doesn't flood where you are. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI have heard of that saying and my fingers are crossed for you that it does not flood... We are in for several days of rain too this week ... if the weatherman can be trusted....We need the rain but not flooding... Love your coffee and sunrise photos.. So good to see you this Tday with your thriftstore finds...What a great deal! Happy happy t day! hugs! deb

Sorry I'm late visiting. Not too long after I visited you yesterday, my old computer had a major meltdown, and I had to reboot it twice in order in order to keep it running.. I was able to visit a couple of people, then it shut down again. I gave up and went to bed. I'll be glad when I get my new computer back. I keep hoping it will be soon.
ReplyDeleteI keep reading about the floods in CA, and I worry about mud slides and devastation. I hope nothing like that happens to you, because this is a beautiful old place with a charming front porch. It's a perfect place for that first cup of coffee in the morning.
Those dishes are lovely. I think I've seen some like that here in Wichita. If I run across one, I'll send it to you.
Thanks for sharing your lovely sunrise, your beautiful plates, and your coffee with us for T this Tuesday.
Beautiful sunrise. I have been thinking about you with the weather reports I see. Hope the flooding stays away.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful red sunrise through the tree branches :-). Your dishes are gorgeous and such a find too! Wishing you a Happy T Day! J :-)
ReplyDeleteI know that ominous saying very well. But a red sky at night is gorgeous even so! Love your little plates. I would have picked them up too:)Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteAdorable plates, I'll keep my eyes pealed for that 4th one.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-day
Dishes are pretty tempting- I would love to have a set for each holiday and season and then some spare. But besides buying them, where would you store them unless you lived in a crazy mansion. I do love your dishes. Hope you find the last of the set someday. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteLovely photos from your home. The dishes I think I would have had to take home with me if I'd seen them, they look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy T Day
