T Stands for Tuesday - 12/6/16

It is the first Tuesday in December and time to get together with friends.  I'm drinking my usual coffee. Fresh ground beans from Peets, coffee brewed in a Melitta pot.

photo from internet

I'd be happy to own this cup.  Maybe the sweater too.  Speaking of sweaters and cold weather clothes, here are things I spotted in windows while I was out walking.

I really like this knitted vest.  I tried to get a close up of the way the yoke continues into a cap sleeve.  I will be looking for a similar pattern.  For you knitters - it looks like it is or could be knitted in the round with no seams.  What do you think?

I also liked this scarf and hat.  I could be bundled up and nice and cozy.  Is it cold where you are?  Not really cold here by the Bay but chilly enough to enjoy sweaters, hats and scarves.

I'm taking my coffee and joining Elizabeth and the rest of the Tea Tuesday gang over at Altered Book Lover.  Won't you come along and join us?

  3. Maybe it's knit from the top down. That way you'd just cast off for the sleeve cap and cast on stitches below? Looks toasty warm.

  7. I love the sweater vest, with that rounded yolk. I sometime wish I could knit. The hat and scarf are right up my alley as I do tend to wear both.
Crisp here in the mornings, frost on the roof tops, but then gently warms in the afternoons.
I love the cup in the photo, very pretty.
    Happy T-day

  8. I'd like that cup, too :) My Peet's isn't fresh-ground, but it's what we have been drinking this morning. Can't be beat! Happy T Tuesday :)

  9. It's freezing here, or at least near freezing, and I still won't wear anything that fits high on my neck (or "no neck" as I call myself). I do like that gorgeous cup and sweater sleeve, though.

Since I've never knitted anything except a straight line, I couldn't help with your question. But I appreciate you sharing your bundled up goodies and that lovely cup of freshly ground Peets with us for T this Tuesday. No Peets in my state, though. I've looked.

  10. I love the photo you found on the internet, it looks so magical! Hats are definately my thing and I often need to bundle up all warm and cosy on wintery days to enjoy our walks on the beach :-). Happy T Day! J :-)

  11. That is a very pretty cup. And it's sweater weather, scarf, hat, and mitten weather here in south central Massachusetts. We just had our first couple of inches of snow on Monday. Is it July, yet? Happy T Day

  12. Fabulous photos all this- I think also that they knitted the upper part in one for the vest. We have a super landscape here and really cold - all is layered in white frost -just AMAZING!
    Happy weekend Darla!
    Enjoy!

  13. It all looks so cosy and warm Darla. Would you believe, I have several felt hats similar to the one in the last picture, and rarely have a chance to wear them. Maybe next time we go to Canada. The blue knitted vest is gorgeous - maybe you should have it?

  14. The plaid (is it tartan) scarf calls MY name! It looks like something I could keep wrapped up in when inside a chilly room...The temperatures here are calling for this type of apparel!

It's 17F here right now; tonight it's supposed to be something like 7F. Ick.

  16. I love this image! The vest does look lovely but I would have no idea how to knit it! We are having a sunny day today and slightly higher temps! Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx

  17. Lovely photo to start T day with. I like the vest as well, especially the detail around the yoke and little cap sleeves.

I'm trying to stay warm although it's 70 F outside. Don't laugh. We live in a masonry house with no central heat. The walls seem to absorb the nighttime cold and the house stays cold unless we have a sunny day. Wish I could take my craft room and computer outside on such days ;-)

  18. Love that vest! And such a pretty cup.
14 degrees today here. Supposed to get down to 2 degrees tonight and minus 7 tomorrow night. Good grief!
