For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere this is the time of the shortest daylight hours and the longest night.

Celebrations to mark this special time have taken place throughout history and occurred in many civilizations.
During the winter months I sometimes feel like the bear, wanting to snooze away the dark hours. I always enjoy the Winter Solstice and look forward to the lengthening of daylight hours and the prospect of another Spring.
Wishing you a Happy Solstice
Happy Solstice! And Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHappy Solstice. I want to build a fire in the chiminea, but I think I'd rather stay inside ;)
ReplyDeleteHappy solstice and happy holidays to you and yours. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Solstice, Darla!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, I always notice the solstice. I'm so pleased to think our Summer days will begin to shorten, and perhaps be a little cooler. Meantime, have a really lovely Christmas Darla, and a happy New Year too.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have picked the wrong time to be offline for a day. I feel a bit like that bear, but unfortunately, I am so far behind I've not been able to sleep.
ReplyDeleteI hope the solstice was good to you, and I wish you a truly lovely, safe, and enjoyable Christmas.
