Tea Stands for Tuesday - 7/12/16

Tuesday already?  I can't believe it has been a week since I last posted.  The week included a run to the River House to deliver a piece of furniture and some odds and ends.

I enjoyed a cup of morning coffee while sitting on the porch. The cup is part of my new collection of thrifted colorful dishes.  I like the sunny yellow.

There are many trees and bushes on the property and we don't know what some of them are.  I discovered this one blossoming.  I showed the picture to a friend who said it may be Durante.  Anyone know for sure?

This old oak secretary was the main thing on the truck this run.  It is a piece I've had for years.  It was handed down to me through my family.  You can see the shelves aren't in yet, still piled there at the bottom behind the glass door.  A few antique pictures came along as well, safely packed in cardboard (that's one at the left).  Furniture for the house is coming together slowly but surely.

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday.  Don't forget to visit Elizabeth who hosts our party every week.  I enjoy the group that gathers and try never to miss a Tuesday post.

Your yellow cup is so cheerful looking sitting in the sun shine.
I haven't posted in a couple of months. I just don't feel right to post and then not have time to return the visits. :( The GDs will be coming through the door at any minute and the whirl wind day will begin.....LOL
Have a great week......loving seeing your photos when I have a chance to get on line.

  10. I'm glad you're getting the furniture situated to suit you. The secretary reminds me of Mother's, which my oldest child now has. Sweet. It's going to be wonderful fun identifying all the plants! And a bit challenging, too, it seems. But it sounds like you'll have help with that if you want it. Happy T Tuesday!

  12. That old secretary would fit perfectly in my home. It is gorgeous and it looks like the top drawer is serpentine, too.

If it isn't a rose or a day lily, I can't help. I hope Patty's research confirmed what your friend thought, because your view from your porch is wonderful. That lovely yellow mug is the perfect addition for early morning sunshine.

Thanks for sharing your antique and your lovely yellow mug with us for T this Tuesday.

  16. You have a lovely color of Duranta erecta or Golden Dewdrop, for the little pods it gets after the flowers are gone. I have one, although not as deep in coloring as yours, butterflies love it.

    Your oak secretary is wonderful!

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

  17. We have that little purple flower on a hardy shrub in our garden. We call it Geisha, but I don't know its botanical name. I love your sunny yellow cup, and your new collection must be looking very cheerful now.
