Regular readers know that when I take my morning walk I occasionally pick up a pound or two of coffee beans at PEETS.
When you buy a pound of beans you are offered a free cup of coffee or tea. This time I chose the tea and walked to a nearby bench to sit down and enjoy it.
I had not tried this particular tea before. They did tell me what the ingredients were but the only part I remember is Roobioos. I liked this tea so much I will buy some for home the next time I'm out walking in that area.
As I was sitting watching people walk by and watching the fall leaves tumble down I was reminded of some sketches I did some time ago. Here is one that seemed particularly appropriate for today. A re-visit so to speak. I filled that small sketchbook. I really like the size and must remember to get another one.
Be sure to visit Elizabeth's blog and say hello to the other Tea Tuesday posters. It is a great group.
Hi Darla! Your sketch is really sweet and so a great way to incorporate nature. Most all of our leaves are down here, and it is really looking Winter-like already. I am still on the fence about Rooibos teas, but I have several at home in different to yet try. Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI'll always be grateful to you for introducing me to Peet's coffee, but I've tried to like rooibos tea without success. Different strokes, as they say.... The fall leaves are falling, aren't they. My patio is full of them, and we don't have any trees out there lol
ReplyDeleteHappy T Tuesday!
I had never heard of Peets until I read about it on your blog. We don't get it here, so I'll just appreciate yours. I'm also not sure I like rooibos. I guess it depends on the brand. To me, some of it tastes like dirt.
ReplyDeleteYour drawing is lovely and I think I remember it. It is certainly appropriate because our leaves are slowly giving up their hold on the trees in my neighborhood.
Thanks for sharing your art, as well as both tea and coffee with us for T this Tuesday, Have a lovely and safe Thanksgiving, too, dear Darla.
I have never seen Peets coffee over here, but I love the idea of picking up a pound or 2 (or3?). Nice that you get a free drink, too, and that you enjoyed the tea. Lovely sketch with leaves. Here the leaves are all down now and it is really cold today. Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI have seen Peets in various places around here but I haven't tried any myself. I like the idea of getting a free cup when you buy a pound-always a nice way to try something! Love your sketch and leaves-simply beautiful. Happy T day and happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeletethat sounds like a great shop..we used to have a market stall in the city where you could buy huge bags of beans and freshly ground coffee too but now sadly its been replaced by expensive trendy shops but it brought back memories of bags of coffee beans in my bag and the smell was divine
ReplyDeleteLove your sketch.
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the sketch a LOT! Yes, please do get another small sketchbook so we can see more of these. I like Roobioos too. I must remember to get some next time I'm out.
ReplyDeleteOh yes -- I love Peet's coffee too. And what a nice way to enjoy it after a morning walk. Happy T Day and Happy Thanksgiving to you.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely sketch and watercolor. I don't know that we have a Peet's coffee anywhere around here. I do enjoy a good Roobioos tea though!
ReplyDelete. I first had Roobois in South Africa and it always makes me think of that country.
ReplyDeleteHappy T-Day! Sorry I'm so late (so VERY late), but I was offline for most of Thanksgiving week. I hope that you had a nice Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI see that you got a free drink last week, too. :) It sounds delicious; I like roobois.
The way that you incorporated the leaves into your sketch is very clever. And it's fun to revisit old artwork, too.
Take care and enjoy the last day of November! :)
