Tea Stands for Tuesday - 2/16/16

Tuesday morning, time to gather with friends at Elizabeth's blog.  Bring a drink and come join us.

I attended a ladies luncheon over the weekend.  The hostess had pots of heather on each table.  At the end of lunch we were asked to look under our chairs, if you spotted a paper dot on you chair you were the winner of the centerpiece.  Guess who got lucky and brought home a pot of heather.

I'm showing you (so dark you have to look hard) a mug I rarely use.  I did some rearranging of kitchen cabinets and pulled two seldom used dark cobalt blue mugs to the front.  I used the mug a couple of times and realize why they were in the back of the rotation. I like the inside of a mug to be white or at least not dark like this.

Do you have a preference about the inside of your mug?  Such a small picky issue but there you have it. The mugs are going back in the corner.

  1. Yes, I agree. I don't like the inside of my mug to be black either!
What beautiful heather. Lucky you to win the draw!
As you might have noticed,I haven't linked up yet for the simple reason I have not written anything yet. I will soon. We are in a bit of a situation here, which is will be resolved but you will read about it in my blog later on.
    Happy T day

  2. What a glorious spot of color that heather plant is! Never gave thought about the inside of a mug but then I also don't think I own one with a dark interior:) Happy T day!

  3. Did you steal my table, my pot holder, and one of my cobalt blue mugs? I swear I had to look long and hard because I thought I was looking at one of my quartersawn oak tables. That heather is the only thing I won't find at my place. Lucky YOU!!

I have lots of mugs that have decorations on the inside, and I have lots that are the same color throughout, which is cobalt blue. Never gave it a thought, so guess it doesn't bother me. It is probably easier to wash and shows stains less, too (grin).

Thanks for sharing your heather and your cobalt blue mug with us for T this Tuesday. I swear, you and I have many pieces in common this week.

  4. Lucky you for picking the right chair--the heather is beautiful! I don't think I mind the inside color of the cup especially because I think tea might stain more than coffee so would be less noticeable.

  5. Lucky you being able to take home such a lovely pot of heather. I am not so picky about the colour of the cup inside or out, but I like big ones filled with good coffee! Happy T Day, hugs, Valerie

  6. The heather is so pretty. I like the inside of my cup/mug to be white and I like a thin cup or mug, not a chunky one.

  7. A beautiful centerpiece...lucky girl. I'm not picky about the color of my mug...I just want is to be big enough that I'm not getting up to refill too often and have a comfortable handle.
    Happy T Day!

  8. Yep, inside of mugs and bowls need to be light-colors! But glazing the inside separately from the outside is a bit of a PITA.
What a gorgeous and happy centerpiece - so happy you won it.

  9. I don't care for the dark inside of a coffee mug either. I don't always turn on the lights, but there is enough glow from the light on the coffee pot to see how full the cup is with a white interior......LOL dumb hug?

The heater is beautiful, really pops with all the cobalt around it.

    Happy T-day

  10. That heather pot is such a treat! I like a variety of cups, and handle comfort is important to me but interior color is not. Happy T Tuesday!

  11. Such pretty heather! And what a lucky lady!! You know i guess i do prefer a light color on the inside of the mug just so i can see when to stop pouring easier since its usually early morning when i'm pouring coffee and my eyeballs are not all the way open yet... but other than that i don't mind it either way... Sure is a pretty mug... Hugs! deb

  14. Congrats on winning such a striking centerpiece! I don't mind dark insides of cups, but I guess I do prefer the lighter. Had never thought about it before--LOL! Cobalt blue is a really cool color for a mug! Happy T-Day! :)

  15. We never see heather, and what a beautiful pot to win, looking gorgeous on your table. I am also not fond of dark interiors in my coffee mugs, and those I have been given also find their way to the back of the cupboard.

  16. I'm neutral on the color of the mug interior- I love dark color mugs, and they hide the tea stains lol, but they do make it hard to tell how strong the tea is when making it by the cup!

    Beautiful heather!

  19. Lucky you winning the Heather! I have never really thought about the colour of the inside of my mugs but I do remember (years ago) having some brown mugs and not liking them that much! Sorry to be so late, my outing yesterday made me tired! Chrisx

  20. I don't really mind the inside of a mug. What I find always very sad are white mugs that are used for tea drinking - tea stains them so badly and they just look sad sad sad.
Beautiful centerpiece. Heather always reminds me of fall in Germany.

  21. Yes, I know what you mean, I like the inside of the mug to be light too. Then, we can see how strong or light our tea is. Such a pretty pot of heather. I'm not sure what the scent is, but it looks lovely.
