September on the needles

There has been some knitting going on.  I'm slowly working on this. Very slowly I'm afraid.

The pattern is available on Ravelry.  I think it was $4.  It is very similar to a lot of the "Wingspan" type patterns out there.

Here is my work in progress.  I estimate I'm not quite half way to the finish line.  I like the way the colors are showing up.  As you can see by all the points curling up I'm going to have to block the heck out of this when I'm done.  I've never blocked anything quite this size so that will take some planning.

Anyone else knitting or crocheting?  It is the time of year I can get quite excited about yarn and needles.

  1. Yes. I'm knitting on a baby blanket for my great-great-niece (due in late October). I love the varigation in your yarn and know it'll be gorgeous when it's done. I think the Yarn Harlot blocks large things on top of her bed.

  3. I am so impressed by those who can knit. I started a knitting class once, but became frustrated by my lack of skill. I really need to give it another try. The results are so beautiful, as is the shawl you're working on.

  5. I knitted a bookmark and a doll blanket once, but I can't remember how I did it. I love that pattern! I think I'd have to turn it into bat wings for the season ;

  6. This is a genuine beauty, but I have to agree with Divers and Sundry. I reminds me of bat wings, too!

  8. I have just picked up the needles on a pair of socks that I started last year, but there's something wrong with my finger... arthritis? and one of the joints is hurting so it makes it hard to knit. Will the socks ever be finished? A good question.....
