Solar Eclipse

How many of you are planning to watch the eclipse today?  In our area we are expected to have only 70% coverage of the sun.  Since it will happen here around 9 a.m. we may well have our usual morning marine layer as well.  I'm not sure I will see much.

Coincidentally I recently found this heavy metal "sun" coat hook at a thrift shop a few days ago.  There is a hook there at the bottom but it is hard to see in my photo.  DH is going to hang this in our patio, that is how we plan to mark the day.  It will be a good place to hang a gardening or rain jacket in the future.

Enjoy your day and be careful if you are watching the sun and the moon do their dance.

  1. What an attractive outdoor hook, well timed. I don't think the eclipse is being seen here down under, but it sounds spectacular.

  2. We are supposed to have 92.5% coverage here. Phil's welding helmet will be our "glasses" but we also could have marine layer though I do see the sun peeking through the trees this a.m. Cute coat hook - looks perfect for your garden.

  3. We will get 99.8% coverage here and yes I will be watching. It starts here at 1:09PM and total eclipse will be 2:38 PM

  4. We had 93% coverage here, and I used a box viewer and a card projector to view as long as I could. We had cloud cover move in, though, and it was total eclipse by clouds before we reached our max. I can't share photos here, but I put a couple of photos and a video of the rain lol on Facebook. We enjoyed the event, tho.

  5. I love that thrift shop find. Its cute. How was your eclipse. We were at 60% and it was cool but not very dramatic. Hugs-Erika

It was so cloudy here I didn't notice anything at all.

  7. Not sure how I missed this post, but I simply adore that hook. I also love that you added that the sun and moon would be doing a dance. Never thought of it like that before!
