April Knitting - 4/26/17

I enjoy knitting in general but the part I like best is learning something new.  Stranded knitting is my latest adventure and this is the second hat I've made.  You can see the first one here.

Knitted with Berroco Ultra Alpoaca

Since the strands of color are carried across the back of the knitting (inside the hat) it nearly doubles the thickness of the knitted object. It makes for a very warm hat. It will be a gift for someone in snow country.

I have quite a bit of yarn left over from the two hats.  I may attempt a pair of mittens.  That would be another first for me.

Any knitters out there doing this kind of work?

  1. Lovely, Darla. I especially like the checkerboard band around the lower part. I have done two-stranded knitting and even took a class once on making a beret. I finished it, but probably won't attempt another. LOL Your snow country friend will be thrilled with this.

  2. This is so pretty as well as clever Darla. I love the colours as well as the design, and someone will be a very lucky recipient one of these days :)

  3. I'm having a meltdown on my internet, but I wanted to say I like the hat, even if I have NO idea what you were talking about with the yarn.

  4. Great job Darla!!!
I love the look of stranded/fair isle knitting but sometimes find it fidgety. The end product is worth the patience.
    Happy knitting!!
