Tea Stands for Tuesday - 4/4/17

Good Morning friends.  This Tuesday finds me at the river house.  I will be asking Elizabeth to link me up.  Be sure to visit her to see what everyone is doing this week.

I had a big cup of coffee and a cannoli to get ready for the road trip.

I was quite excited to get to the river.  Once a year they test the draw bridge adjacent to our property.  Our house is behind those trees in the center of the picture (against the left portion of the bridge).  This is our first year at the property so we were all waiting for this event.

If you want to see the bridge in action here's a video.

The bridge was built in 1933.  Back then there was a lot of shipping along this part of the river.  That is no longer the case but the bridge still works.

That's the excitement here.  What is happening at your place?

  2. I am SO sorry, Darla. I seem to be keeping the wrong type of hours and I didn't see your request until just now. How exciting seeing this must be. I really enjoyed the connection between the raising of the bridge and your cup from London. CLEVER and definitely outside the box. Thanks for sharing this unique event AND your London mug with us for T this Tuesday.

  4. Your cannoli looks scrumptious, Darla! Enjoy the river house time. It looks like a lovely spot.

What's happening here? Workers just arrived to start retiling and re-plumbing the shower in our master bath. So I'm typing to the beat of hammers and falling tiles - lol.

    Happy T-day! Hugs, Eileen

  10. Good to see that classic draw bridge opened up on schedule. They are fascinating things. A touch of Autumn at our place - so nice to feel a chill in the air, and even wear a cardigan for a while this morning.

  13. Your food looks good :) and watching the bridge testing would be exciting for me. We don't have a drawbridge anywhere close to us.
