Tea Stands For Tuesday - 11/26/19

Hello to all of my tea party friends.  I'm happy to be able to join everyone at Elisabeth's blog party this morning.

I brought hot chocolate to share this morning.  Anything in a pretty cup would please me though.

We will be with family on Thanksgiving but we hosted some friends over the weekend.  Not the traditional meal, just a pot luck of desserts.

I made the traditional Libby's Canned Pumpkin pie.  I tossed in a few extra spices but otherwise it is unchanged over the years.

My other old fashioned dessert was a skillet pineapple upside down cake.  I left out the bright red cherries in the center of each pineapple ring.  We don't eat them.  I kind  of miss them when I look at the cake though.

Hope you are well and happy as we near  the last month of the year.

  1. Hi Darla, your desserts look beautiful I love pumpkin pie so will be baking me up a pie and we love pineapple upside down cakes too-in cast iron is the best-we don't use those red cherries either. I started using drained crushed pineapple now.
That set you found is so pretty-I would love a cup of hot chocolate
Happy Thanksgiving and Happy T hugs Kathy

  5. I love that pretty, delicate tea set. I'll be making two Libby's pumpkin pies and I adjust spices just as you do;). I also remember the pineapple upside down cake with the cherries but don't make that one. Never liked maraschino cherries for anything. Happy Thanksgiving and happy T day!

  10. Beautiful tea set, and yummy looking pie! We will just be two for Thanksgiving, but still will have turkey, (breast cooked in the slow cooker), and sweet potatoes and green bean casserole. I wish you a happy Thanksgiving.
Elizabeth ask me to let everyone know she is having computer problems and will be by when she is up and running again.

  12. Yum! Upside down pineapple cake is a weakness of mine. And the cherries in the middle would probably be my favorite part. Yours looks lovely. Enjoy eating them!
    Happy Tea Day,

  16. Oh what pretty cups! Too pretty to drink from almost.
The desserts look really yumnmy. The pumpkin pie looks very nice indeed. I like pumpkin pie. I have made it a few times. I have to do it from scratch and cook the pumpkin first (in the oven) and I make up a spice mix from a recipe on the internet. So it is a lot of work. But I do like it.
Your pineapple upside down cake is an all-time favorite in our house. Yes, I do put the cherries in because it looks nice.
    Happy T-Day (belated),
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  18. What can I say, other than I realize I’m very late visiting. That's a gorgeous tea/coffee set you found. It's great for T day, too.

I like the idea of dessert pot luck. You can never have too many desserts. I love the pumpkin pie and I also add more spices than what are called for. But my favorite is Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I LOVE the cherries and would gladly eat all of yours (grin).

Thanks for sharing your desserts and tea/coffee set with us for T this Tuesday, only now it's Wednesday. SO glad you are back again. I've missed you. Happy Thanksgiving.
