Happy May Day

Hope the weather is beautiful where you are.

I wonder if anyone dances around the Maypole these days.  Back in what seems like the dark ages, I had the chance to be a Maypole dancer.  I think I was in the first or second grade and attended a small country school where grades 1 through 12 were in the same building.  I have very vague memories of the day and how excited I was about participating.

  1. When the kids were little we did this. Then we'd have a picnic. Fun! How exciting that you got to do this as a child :)

  2. I also did this as a child. Our grade (grammar) school set up a May pole and we each got a turn at winding the ribbons around the pole. What a FOND, fond memory.

Happy May Day to you, too, dear Darla.

  3. I've wondered the same thing about the Maypole dance. I have never had the opportunity to dance around one, but I don't know if they do this anymore. I hope you had a wonderful May Day Darla. Hugs-Erika
